QR codes are easy. That’s exactly why scammers use them.

Before you scan, run through this quick check:

• Check where it came from
  Random flyer, email, or sticker? Be skeptical.
• Look for tampering
• A sticker placed over another code is a big red flag.
• Preview the link
  If the URL looks strange, misspelled, or shortened, don’t open it.
• Watch for login requests
  A QR code should not be asking for your email, password, or banking info.
• Pause if it feels urgent
  “Scan now to avoid account issues” is classic scam language.

It takes 5 seconds to check, but it can prevent a serious security issue.
